I am a late 30′s computer geek but more than that. I am a former monk, former Los Angeles computer game programmer, and now a meditation teacher and freelance computer doctor.
Recently, I’ve had an “awakening to food” which means I’m now exploring (at least to me) the thrilling possibilities of different plant-based tastes and textures. I am naturally curious, and after living in a community for 5 years, I get along with many sorts of people easily. I enjoy the “ah-ha!” revelation that comes from creating; going out on group dine-outs to new restaurants; and researching alternative healing and cleansing methods. I’m usually very busy with work so I may only be seen emerging into my kitchen. Hablo espanol tambien.
Why I’m Writing All This
Right around my 38th birthday, I almost died. My body’s energy was spiralling downward and I felt like an old, decrepit man about to kick the bucket. It was humbling to be forced to decide: “Do I want to live… or die?” And with that choice, it’s like I’ve been fired of out a canon.
I gave myself a 10-year mission to do whatever it takes to have a strong, high-energy body. That means 2018, when I’m 48, is my deadline. And so far, all is well.
I’ve started with the fantastic Internal Cleansing Kit from Blessed Herbs, which immediately saved my life, and have been trying various kick-ass cleanses and super-foods since. I can’t recommend the Blessed Herbs cleanse enough due to its intelligent design and adaptability to your life.
Basically, it comes to down to these attitudes:
- I’m paying attention now.
- I’m accountable for absolutely everything in my life.
- Question everything.
I’m documenting my thoughts and experiments to get it all out of my head, to keep all these personal discoveries from rattling around and around with no outlet.
A lover of cheesecake, salsa dance, and geeky things.

Michael’s mind is powered by Chi Cake, a yummy cheese-free cheesecake. It’s got the taste & texture down but without the bloat and slowness from indulging in this most creamy sweet food. If you want to brighten his day, just buy him a Chi Cake.
